Open Sourcing
Privacy
This page explains how the Open Sourcing website handles information you choose to share.
Information we collect
Contact forms collect your name, email address, organisation or current role where supplied, the reason for your enquiry, and your message. Newsletter and OS Career launch signups collect your email address. We use this information to respond, discuss relevant opportunities or send the updates you requested.
How submissions are handled
Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely for follow-up by Open Sourcing. They can also be forwarded to the Open Sourcing operator’s configured inbox when email delivery is enabled. We do not sell form data.
CVs, attachments and introduction requests
Optional CVs, job briefs and decks are held in private file storage. Introduction requests include the role you selected, your contact information, any note and optional CV. Your full OS Career account is not copied into a request. Only Open Sourcing’s authorised operator can review these submissions.
OS Career private preview and AI
The preview stores the career profile you review, saved opportunities and information you enter in an authenticated database. CV files are read in your browser. When you save a file-based profile, the original CV is also stored privately until you replace it, delete the file or delete your OS Career data. The owner can see basic account registration details, but recruitment access to your profile or CV requires your approval in Settings & privacy. Private AI conversations, career notes and salary thoughts are excluded from that recruitment view. Extracted text can be processed by Ollama Cloud for profile extraction; other AI assistance uses OpenAI. These are external cloud services, not models running on your device. Email and international phone patterns are removed before CV analysis where recognised; do not include information that is unnecessary for your career profile. AI results require your review.
AI extraction results are cached for up to 24 hours for reuse. Expired cache entries are removed during subsequent use. Deleting your OS Career data removes the profile, AI cache, AI activity records and saved roles. Separately submitted enquiries, introduction requests and attached files remain part of the recruitment enquiry until you request their deletion.
Storage, retention and contact
The site uses Sites hosting, Cloudflare database and file storage. An email delivery provider may process enquiries when forwarding is configured. Information is kept to provide the service or handle your enquiry; contact info@open-sourcing.com for access, correction, deletion or newsletter withdrawal. The operator is Andy McLoughlin, Open Sourcing. No fixed response or deletion deadline is promised on this page. Service providers may process information outside your country.
Cookies and local storage
The public website uses essential browser storage to remember your cookie choice and support core functionality. Optional cookies remain disabled when you decline. You can reopen Cookie options in the footer at any time.
Your choices
You can contact info@open-sourcing.com to ask about information you submitted, unsubscribe from updates or request deletion. OS Career is a separate candidate product with its own authenticated data handling.
